We have been fortunate enough to attend Sande’s classes and she is the real deal.  Whether you are close to NYC or Woodstock, and you have the opportunity to attend one of her workshops or weekly classes, you will not be disappointed.  The tried and true techniques that Sande developed  has had quite an impact.  Here are some quotes from Sande’s site:

“Sande’s technique has not only helped me as an actor but now as a Casting Director I constantly see her technique inspiring and shinning through her students at auditions.”
-Bob Lambert, casting for ALL MY CHILDREN

“I think it’s safe to say that my acting has exploded and expanded beyond anything I could have imagined!”
-Anthony Rapp, Star of Broadway & Film (RENT, SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION, A BEAUTIFUL MIND)

“Sande is an incredible teacher. Her Techniques are so good I use them in my life as well as work.”
-Casey Nicholaw, Tony nominated Director (THE DROWSY CHAPERONE), Tony winner Director (THE BOOK OF MORMON)

WOODSTOCK:

Summer Classes

No class this Thursday. And the week after is July 4th weekend so we will resume classes the following Thursday which will be Thursday July 9th.

July 16th and 23rd we will be working on monologues. So you may want to start looking for suitable monologues that you could be cast for. These two classes are opened to the public. So if you know actors interested in getting their monologues together this would be great classes to invite them to. If if actors have worked with us before this would be a great 2 day ( 2 consecutive Thursday) refresher.

The Audition Workshop in Woodstock:

4 Consecutive Thursdays September 10th, 17th 24th and October 1st beginning at 6:30 ending around 8:30 or 9:00. New or former students welcome to this 4 day workshop. The cost is $160.00.

PERFORMING ARTS OF WOODSTOCK PRESENTS CLYBOURNE PARK!

This is the good stuff.  I was lucky enough to see the final performance of Bruce Norris’ Tony/Pulitzer winning play, Clybourne Park, at Performing Arts of Woodstock.  A tremendous ensemble cast most ably directed by Sande Shurin.  I really can’t say enough about the play, its calculated and smart direction and the balls out choices made by the actors.  I had forgotten that there should be nothing safe in live theater having seen so many tepid offerings as of late.  It was a wonderful surprise to see professionals flexing and soaring.   Such a strong ensemble piece rightly helmed by Sande Shurin.  It was a beautiful night at the theater.
