A glimpse into one family’s romantic, boisterous, messy, treacherous life, LOVE AFTER LOVE catalogues the reunions and departures of a mother and her two grown sons over the course of several years. In the tradition of Woody Allen and John Cassavetes, LOVE AFTER LOVE takes an unblinking look at a family navigating their way forward in the shadow of a shared tragedy.

LOVE AFTER LOVE is the feature film debut of writer/director Russ Harbaugh, whose short ROLLING ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING, on which our film is based, enchanted audiences at The Sundance Film Festival and the New Directors/New Films in 2012.  The script for LOVE AFTER LOVE is also supported by and workshopped extensively at the Sundance Labs.  The film will be produced by the veteran Brooklyn based production company, Parts & Labor (THE WITCH, BEGINNERS).  It will star the great Chris O’Dowd (BRIDESMAIDS, THIS IS 40) and the infinitely charming Andie MacDowell (GROUNDHOG DAY, FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL).

AUDITION SIDES

LIZ

I know what you’re thinking.  It’s going to happen to someone else and not me….am I right? Well, I wish I wasn’t. But it’s not surprising.  Fire is after all the greatest, but least recognized threat to the population…in almost any setting…hands-down. Did you know that fire kills someone every 2 hours 42 seconds… that over a million fires occur every year in the U.S., or that a fire department responds to a fire every 25 seconds?  Probably not.  So why don’t you stick around for a bit and join our group as an observer.

STEVE

Hi. Liz said you might be stopping by.  So I just started doing some research on the characteristics of fire, and these four words keep coming up.  Fast, Dark, Hot and Deadly…so I created a little quiz.  It’s not as fancy as Marissa’s hologram.  But I think it drives the point home. Want to give a try?  (pauses) good.

MARISSA

Pretty cool..right? (addresses camera)  So, my topic area was “Know your Building”. So I took a look at our buildings blueprints last week, with the idea of setting up a demonstration that illustrates the built-in safety features for most steel constructed commercial buildings….and here it is. So Steve, what’s the first thing that really sticks out to you?

HEATHER

Let’s say that a fire started on the 12th floor of our building. We call that the fire floor. Our evacuation plan is like many high rise commercial buildings in that in addition to the fire floor, floors above and below are evacuated to a safe place in the building.  In our case, because of the way our alarm is programmed, a fire on the 12th floor would mean that the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th floors would evacuate to the 9th floor. In some buildings it’s only three floors; which is another reason to know the plan.

STILL SEEKING:

[GIRL]

Females, looking 16-25 years old but MUST BE LEGAL 18, ALL ETHNICITIES, STRONG ACTORS.  An alien who’s landed on earth (a la Starman) and eventually sees the human form she’s in when she glimpses her reflection in the mirror.  A pretty girl with a unique, otherworldly and different look, SEE REFERENCE IMAGES/LINKS BELOW.  As there are no lines, body language will be a big factor for the character – everything from showing fear as she’s chased to wonder and amazement as she realizes both what she is and where she is.  LEAD

Posted by Patricia Gallio / Castings

*Direct booking based on required materials (see submission details below)

*Deadline to submit: 8 PM Monday, 10/12/15

PROJECT: Music Video

UNION STATUS:  Non-Union

ARTIST:  AUDIEN/LADY ANTEBELLUM, “Something Better”

LABEL:  Capitol Records

PRODUCER:  RAB Media

DIRECTOR:  Will Joines

SHOOT DATES:  October 15th (afternoon-midnight) AND October 16th (overnight shoot)

LOCATION:  Campbell Hall, NY

RATE: $325/8  hours ($650 total), round-trip crew van transportation from NYC, copy and meals.  No agency fee.

SYNOPSIS:

A cinematic, emotional, romantic concept—but still modern enough that it fits into the mainstream. A new take on classic films like Starman and E.T., but with a contemporary, young-adult cast.

SEEKING:

[BOY]

Male, 16-25, Caucasian (MUST BE LEGAL 18), STRONG ACTORS.  An idealistic dreamer who lives on a farm in Anytown, USA – an avid stargazer who dreams about leaving his small hometown.  Can pass as teenager, handsome with a certain youthful innocence, curiosity and “stars in his eyes” and very relatable- think Zach Gilford from Friday Night Lights (see reference pic).   LEAD

 Zach Gilford

[GIRL]

Females, 16-25, all ethnicities (MUST BE LEGAL 18) STRONG ACTORS.  An alien who’s landed on earth (a la Starman) and eventually sees the human form she’s in when she glimpses her reflection in the mirror.  A pretty girl with a unique look and BIG eyes would be ideal- think Gemma Ward (see reference pic).  As there are no lines, body language will be a big factor for the character – everything from showing fear as she’s chased to wonder and amazement as she realizes both what she is and where she is.  LEAD
