*[DAVID]
Male, 20’s, Caucasian but open to other ethnicities who identify with this role. David is the protagonist of the film. A native New Yorker from Brooklyn. He is liberal yet nervous and shy, longing for more of a connection with people. He is educated and makes good money as a photographer. His character arc is learning to be less uptight and judgmental and more of an open-minded man, who is learning to check his privilege in all senses of the word. This role has a semi-nude scene where David and Jocelyn start undressing, but never follow through, due to an unexpected interruption. LEAD
*[JOCELYN]
Female, early 20s, any ethnicity. Jocelyn is a single mother, born and raised in the small rural town in which the film takes place. Beautiful but slightly worn looking beyond her years, she is definitely the kind of woman who has been through the ringer in life, but is wise enough to hold her own and is confident in her own skin and has a specific kind of allure to her. She is the strong, smart, confident counterpoint to David’s insecure, nervous self. That being said, the reason she is so smart and confident is because she has learned a lot of hard knock life lessons over the years. AUTHENTIC SOUTHERN ACCENT REQUIRED. This role has a semi-nude scene where Jocelyn and David start undressing, but never follow through, due to an unexpected interruption. LEAD
[CLYDE]
Male, age 50s-60s, Caucasian. Super old school, kind-hearted southerner and who has been a bartender for decades. AUTHENTIC SOUTHERN ACCENT REQUIRED. FEATURED
[MIKE]
Male, 20s, any ethnicity. David’s friend and colleague, much nicer person with a less cynical view of people. An experienced reporter and observer, he’s been around the block and is more sure of himself. Think the series VICE. Would be at home on the front of a war or a garden party. FEATURED
